The second book in the Rashwa series, Obsidian Amulet by Karen Bailey starts off where Obsidian Mine ends
and follows Grace, Jennifer's sister on her journey towards self-discovery in the
magical, hidden realm of Rashwa. Grace should be settled, having been given a
home, and enjoying her new life under the protection of the King and her
sister, but she is haunted by secrets of her past and the desire for revenge.
Her sister is the new Queen of Rashwa, and the children are home and now free
from the claws of her evil father. But her father has taken everything from her
— her family and her dreams of building her career in medicine. She has lost
the world she once knew and she is determined to make her father pay for what
he has done. But does she has what it takes to bring her father down?
This second installment in the Rashwa series is as captivating as the first
book. Readers will love the heroine who is driven by the need for revenge.
Karen Bailey cleverly writes motivation into her characters and apart from
Grace, there is Bernard who pines for her and who sees in her everything he
wants in a woman. He is aware that Grace is troubled and will stop at nothing to
unveil the secrets hidden in her heart and be with her. The plot moves steadily
forward with emotionally intense scenes. The world of Rashwa is ingeniously
written and immersive. The thrill of Obsidian
Amulet is the finesse in writing and the consistency in the voice. It is
balanced in its romance and in the action that moves the story forward; it is
as absorbing as the first book, original and wonderful in the breadth of its
characters.
