Long
Valley by Robert E. Kreig is an exhilarating
tale about the struggle to survive against all odds and how to stay resilient
no matter what happens. At the bottom of snow-capped mountains, nestled
comfortably, lies the small population of Long Valley. It is the place where
everyone knows the other’s business, and life is much sweeter and less
complicated. However, all of this changes when there is news of an accident
near an army base in the locale. Reports spread detailing horrific incidents
and unbelievably frightening events taking place that put the lives of the
residents in great danger. A deadly virus has spread, transforming anyone
in the vicinity. Livestock, pets, wildlife, and humans are turning into
something terrifyingly unnatural and brutal. As law enforcement and civilians
begin to band together to keep the town safe, there lie great risks ahead.
Sacrifices that must be made to survive. Nevertheless, when most of the
townspeople ‘turn,’ survival is much more challenging, with little to no chance
for escape.
Long
Valley by Robert E. Kreig is an utterly
thrilling horror and fantasy book that focuses on the unassuming people of Long
Valley and their struggle for survival in the worst of odds. It is a searing
and propulsive story that showcases the author’s ability to explore the human
sense of fear and the ache to survive when dangers lurk on the horizon. The
author writes scenes that are focused and emotionally rich, characters that are
fully drawn and genuinely flawed, and a community whose shared sense of danger
moves everyone to be creative. The narrative moves at breakneck speed, with
twists that readers won’t see coming. Robert E. Kreig’s prose is gorgeous and
his novel is as imaginative as it is delectable to fans of horror.
