Ambrosia “Amy” Arrington is a hot-shot lawyer for a powerhouse law firm in New York. Her workaholic lifestyle leaves little room for getting back to visit family and friends in her home state of Kentucky. Amy is called to assist her firm on a tough case, which leads to an elderly woman being evicted from her home. Amy questions her career path and who she truly represents. She takes some much-needed vacation time, traveling home to Louisville. Her father is a renowned attorney, and her mother is a blueblood socialite. Amy arrives home to discover her family home has become a literal circus, with people and animals running around. Her father attempts to fight for noble causes in and outside the courthouse, lighting a spark inside Amy.

Louisville Salutations is a dramatic fictional narrative that combines heart and southern charm. The plot thrives on the actions of protagonist Amy and her flight from the confines of a soul-crushing job to the warm embrace of home and hearth. New York City is where Amy made her career, but Louisville has an indelible hold on her heart.

Author Michael David Cochran has written an entertaining book with an eclectic cast of characters. The author infuses the story with various aspects of Kentucky culture and nightlife along with natives like Hunter S. Thompson. The journey he brings Amy on along with the reader encompasses the good (Kentucky Derby), bad (COVID-19), and ugly (Police shootings) of the last few years. By the book’s conclusion, the reader will feel grateful for being included.
