Boone and Jacque: Sahon by AG Flitcher is a captivating conclusion to the Boone and Jacque series, an adventure that will thrill fans of YA Fantasy as well as well-crafted children books that are filled with adventure and likeable characters. Boone and Jacque are homeward bound after being torn away from their loved ones for so long. But the journey back home is fraught with dangers that lurk everywhere, evil entities they must confront, and unraveling their inner strengths. They are not long home when they must set out on another quest to locate a relative of Boone who has been missing for a long time. Meanwhile, Xantia refuses to give up on the mayor's wife; she stands by Shammy who has an excruciating medical condition.

This highly imaginative and immersive tale features lovable characters. For the two young protagonists, being separated from family and loved ones for a long time is a strong element for a compelling premise. The author deftly explores the emotions of these characters, the challenges they face and how these challenges affect and shape their behaviors. The physical journey is symbolic of the inner growth taking place in these characters as they learn to understand who they are and build their strength. Jacque and Boone stand out in this narrative and the author introduces another intriguing character in a backstory that will arrest the interest of readers. After reading the previous books in the series, I knew I couldn't miss Boone and Jacque: Sahon, and it turned out to be another page-turner in the series. Flitcher is adept at finding different angles to engage readers — sophisticated characters, strong plot points, and gorgeous writing.
