Fans
of Flickering Heart will be genuinely
delighted by Tricia T. LaRochelle's Revive.
It is the second entry in the Sara Browne series. Sara Browne is experiencing
disturbing nightmares, still not able to walk past a traumatic experience. Her
relationship with Scott offers her strength, but she still has to deal with the
doldrums that come alongside college life. When the story of Carrie Stevens, a
student who went missing a year ago resurfaces, she becomes obsessed with it.
She wants to uncover what happened to her and wonders if this is linked to a trauma she suffered before at the hands of a stalker. The more she digs, the more she gets
enmeshed in a world of danger, eventually uncovering a secret that can destroy
her.
This
is another spellbinding tale from an author who writes romance that readers
will love. I enjoyed how she builds the tension, moving it slowly through
realistic experiences into a sexual climax that takes a symbolic moment in the
narrative. Sara has been through a lot, and readers will enjoy her journey to
understanding how the accident and the death of her parents have affected her —
emotionally and psychologically — and how a traumatic encounter has broken her. Her journey towards healing is incredible and there couldn’t have been a
better heroine for this novel. The author writes relationships with care,
exploring the banter and the hype within a fraternity while deftly examining
the pain Sara carries in her heart. Sara survives a lot in this engrossing
tale.
LaRochelle has crafted a perfect story for fans of new adult romance,
brimming with emotionally intense moments and surprising twists. She writes like
a pro and delivers a profoundly entertaining romance story with genuinely
flawed characters and a deftly handled plot with explosive moments. The prose
is dazzling, the first-person narrative voice is expertly executed, and the
dialogues sparkle from page to page. Revive
is another winner in this series and I can’t wait for the next book in the
adventure.
