Drifters Realm (Book One) by AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia is an epic fantasy set in a magical world. First City Leader Quinlan and his daughter who is a Storm Catcher, Tora, are determined to destroy their world. Ori and Roe are twelve-year-old twins living in this mystical world together with their older brother, Theo. The siblings want to know more about their father and set out on a journey that will take them through dangerous terrain — from forests to deserts and unimaginable enemies. They have magical powers — Roe is a Life Giver, Ori is a Sorcerer, and Theo a Tamer — but can they use their powers to stop the growing threat to their world?

AnneMarie Mazotti Gouveia's Drifters Realm is a fascinating opening to a series, a breezy read that is filled with twists, magic, and adventure. The proverbial struggle of good vs evil is wonderfully explored in this epic fantasy tale. The prose is neat and the descriptions are vivid. Toggling between points of views and the fine text, this tale lyrically entangles adventure, magic, and the power of family bonds. The characters are young, fully drawn, and it will be interesting to notice how they evolve through each challenge in this tale of survival. While readers will be invested in the wonderful prose, the bonds between the siblings form the story's emotional core. Readers are keen on how these characters end up, curious about what happens next to them, and interested in discovering more about their stunningly imagined and skillfully executed world. Drifters Realm is a stunner for epic fantasy fans.
