Johnson lives in a future that has been taken over by consumerism, fake news, fast-paced technology, and unbridled capitalism. Working robotically as an Information Editor at Gorilla Industries, a main media company of the Trade Bloc, Johnson’s life takes a turn when he comes across a reactionary to the system called the Renegade. The words of the Renegade shake Johnson to the core and make him aware of how much he is being used. As Johnson realizes the direness of the situation, he must determine if he is willing to undertake the dangerous journey toward uncovering the truth about a system that has put him down all along.

The Information Editor by Miles Hunt is an exceptional dystopian narrative that follows the dull life of our protagonist, Johnson, whose life changes when he comes across and discovers the truth of the realities around him. This book delves into the concept of the terrifying repercussions of unchecked capitalism and constant, unrestricted surveillance. With technology and data taking over our lives, and wealthy conglomerates owning the personal information of billions, Hunt paints a picture that is not especially difficult to imagine. It transports the reader quietly yet directly towards a fate that could very well be our future a chilling thought that will give you goose bumps as you read on.

Likened to the immersive fictional world of George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel 1984, this futuristic tale is more relatable to our times. It is a hugely engaging book for adults, featuring rich imagery and the perfect pace to keep readers intrigued and captivated. With a cunning plot, its rich and elaborately developed characters, the novel will keep readers hooked as deeper layers of meaning and interpretation of reality are uncovered. The Information Editor is an expertly crafted work of fiction that is too close for comfort. After reading the ending of the novel, you will be left in a somber mood contemplating the reality of where we are headed. It is hypnotic, realistic, and in a way, a prophecy for contemporary readers.
