A random and irresistible proposition and a tragic incident set P.I. BJ on a path that puts him in the crosshairs of a secret society and a conspiracy that has ties to WW2. The big question is: How is everything related to his missing father?

In turns thrilling and unpredictable, The Ridders: A Political Thriller by Lisa Towles is another explosive tale that will arrest the interest of fans who have read Ninety-Five and Hot House. Brock Janoff —known as BJ to friends —is approached by a random stranger with an irresistible offer. He is charged to deliver an envelope to a luxury hotel lobby and paid one million dollars upfront. It is an incredible offer —an easy task for a huge reward — but it comes with a catch. The envelope must be delivered on time. The offer piques BJ’s curiosity and as he begins to dig into the mystery of what he believes to be a criminal game, he unwittingly puts the lives of those he loves in danger. Clues lead him to truths he might wish he never uncovered.

Towles’ assured and confident writing entices the reader from the very first page and her captivating dialogues are intelligently crafted to deepen characterization while expanding plot points. The author creates characters and situations that are complex and readers will love Brock, Lacy, and Jonas. Brock is a relentless, resourceful, and stunning hero who goes through dangerous and tense moments. The unpredictability in the plot and the sense of mystery combined with the persistent feeling that something awful can happen at any moment transform the reading experience into one that is delectably gripping. Towles offers a beautiful portrait of family, allowing relationships between siblings to glow through the narrative. The prose is gorgeous and punctuated by vivid descriptions. The superior storytelling in this political thriller establishes Lisa Towles as one of my beloved storytellers. Compulsively readable, this new thriller from Towles consistently surprises and delights.
