readers encounter Ella and Maxi, they immediately sense their reluctance to
admit how they feel about each other, and this behavior that tends to reject
truth and reality permeates the narrative. Nothing is as it seems and problems
increase as the plot moves forward with both fun and dangerous encounters. The
