Sarah loves science class more than anything. She aims to learn something new about the world around her daily. So far, her class has taught her about magnets, animal habitats, and the moon. This morning, they learned a new lesson: DNA, which helps to determine where and who we come from. She realizes that cells are like superheroes, following instructions from our DNA to carry out complex tasks. Mr. Bowman is an intelligent teacher. Sarah brings her DNA test kit and is excited to do the tests with her mother. When her results come in, she discovers she has roots in Europe and Africa. She realizes that Lacy London, a world-renowned geneticist, is her second cousin. She is amazed to learn that a DNA test can help anyone to find more relatives.

Sarah's Gene-ius Discovery is a fascinating book for children exploring the power of curiosity. The author introduces a cast of intriguing characters, from the ever questioning and intelligent Sarah to the lovely Mr. Bowman, a teacher who knows what it takes to ignite imagination and curiosity, to Sarah's mother and the celebrated Lacy London. The excitement in Sarah as she explores with her DNA will entice Children — it enticed me, too. The themes are resonant and relevant, and they are brilliantly written for young readers, from friendship to adventure, teamwork to camaraderie, and family dynamics to self-discovery. Sallana Brown has crafted a book that will entertain children and teach them how to be curious. The illustrations by Beatriz Gouveia are terrific and infuse more life into the story. Overall, Sarah's Gene-ius Discovery is a delightful reading experience for Children.

Many first-time memoirists believe that because the events are true, the structure will take care of itself. This is a fatal error. Life is chaotic; narrative is order.
