His meeting with four natural spirits changes his life and encourages him to
grow into a hero figure. McRoberts brings in her expertise from her years as a
conservation scientist and allows readers an in-depth look into the
environmental issues our world currently faces. There is an undercurrent of
urgency that keeps the reader engaged and hooked to the plot, and the gorgeous
writing and focused scenes lift the beauty of the story and inspire readers to
