After the events of 9/11, Sara Parker, a highly acclaimed journalist is growing distant from reality while losing hope in humanity. In the midst of turmoil, she falls into a deep sleep and opens her eyes in a completely transformed world. It turns out she has been transported 125 years into the future. This world that she has been brought into is free of corrupt, vile, bloodthirsty men who are referred to as ‘boys’. Here, she meets a woman who becomes her guide, leading her through this evolved ecosystem where she is welcomed warmly and where everything exudes beauty, harmony, and grandeur. People of this land have unlocked the secrets to eternal youth amongst many others. But is it real or is it just a world in her mind?

The Power Women Diaries: Sara's Story: THE NIGHT THE BOYS ALL VANISHED by Skye Stanton Gold and Lucia Grace is a story that depicts many of the women-centric movements that are flourishing around the world. Sara Parker acts as a modern-day flag bearer for a reformed world as she returns from her visions of the future. She leads an initiative that becomes so powerful and influential that society is rocked to its core. Eventually, a contract is put on Sara’s life. However, she is protected by a group of loyal and remarkable women who continue to move her, the daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law from one place to another in order to save their lives.

Skye Stanton Gold and Lucia Grace have done a mesmerizing job of creating a unique literary tapestry for readers where the characters are memorable and the plot is compelling. Sara’s struggles resonate with numerous movements that are spread across the world today where women are standing up for their rights in various capacities while facing death threats and encountering multiple other atrocities. At times, it feels like a dream, but it doesn’t lack the realism that makes the story a compelling read. The characters are believable, emotionally and psychologically rich, and the authors write their humanity with intelligence. The novel’s strength is the vision it offers readers and its believable characters. These authors knit the characters and the plot into one cozy pullover of a book offering the perfect escape for fans of women’s fiction with strong themes. Skye Stanton Gold and Lucia Grace handle women’s rights and their humanity more fully than any other novelist I have read.
